Complaint filed against 'Delhi Belly'

Delhi Belly continues to remain in the news, for both reasons good and bad. While the film’s still trotting strong at box office, it’s producer Aamir Khan and director Abhinay Deo have been taken to court for depiction of “obscenity” in the film.
Farah Ayaz Ghani, reportedly an event manager and a small time film producer, filed a complaint on July 8 in suburban Bandra Court against producers -- Aamir Khan, his wife Kiran Rao and Ronnie Screwvala -- director Abhinay Deo and writer Akshat Verma under various sections of IPC.
The filmmakers have been charged under IPC sections 292 (obscenity) and 295 (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage the feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs.
Magistrate Vasant Patil has fixed July 27 for recording statement of the complainant, her lawyer Prashant Pansare told a news agency.
Ghani alleged that vulgar and foul language was been used in the film. Moreover, she says a scene depicting the character conducting a robbery while clad in a burqa insults the religious sentiments of minority community
